Scatter
Illustration Friday for this week is scatter. This weekend I was walking a lot in the Gloustershire countryside. It was beautiful and here in the UK the Autumn has hit us hard and it's been very windy and very cold. The leaves are scattered everywhere.
I'm enjoying working with thread, but scanning in the finished pieces is not doing the work justice, and my camera isn't doing the job properly either. If anyone happens to be reading this with some good ideas on how I can get the stitched image represented well as a digital image for the web, that will be appreciated.
I've also posted the original sketch and a close up of the character in the stitched illustration.

Adorable!!!
Very cute! I think the stitching and depth comes off pretty well as is. Maybe experiment with your lighting?

Bye!!!!!
Very cool! Your stitched illustrations are very impressive!
Thank you everyone! Linda, I think you might be right with the lighting. Would natural daylight be best?
Awwww this is so cute I love it :)
This looks pretty good on my monitor, but I agree with Linda: when it comes to textural things, the lighting becomes really important. I love your work!
Wow! that is so darn cute.
I'm always so impressed by this kind of work! I can't even sew a button on straight, so I'm amazed that you can make such beautiful illustrations just with a needle and thread. Lovely colours and composition too!
I absolutely love this! I actually haven't seen anything like it before. Something like this would be great for my daughter's room. I will have to ad it to my never ending list of crafts that I want to try.
OH my! i absolutely love this.
